San Ramon has a robust economy and is a decidedly white-collar city with 92.41% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. The median household income is $119,297. Bishop Ranch is a master-planned office park in San Ramon with 550 companies representing more than thirty industries and nearly 30,000 employees. Bishop Ranch is home to the corporate headquarters of Chevron Corporation as well the West Coast headquarters of AT&T, Inc.  The office park is also home to United Parcel (regional distribution center), Toyota (regional office and parts distribution center), GE Global Research (Global Software Center) and includes startups and growing companies in areas like social software and clean tech. Interstate 680 serves as the main highway in and out of San Ramon. The County Connection transit agency provides bus service throughout the East Bay communities of San Ramon, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Walnut Creek, Clayton, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, and Danville. If you need to reach a community outside the East Bay, you can take Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). The nearest major airport is Oakland International Airport, located 25 miles from the center of San Ramon. Another major airport is San Francisco International Airport, about a 34-mile drive and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport is about 42 miles from the city.
